6 October 2020 – The South African Senior Men’s National Team, Bafana Bafana arrived in Rustenburg on Tuesday afternoon, and got straight into training in preparation for the international friendly match against Namibia at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. The match will be played on Thursday, 8 October 2020 and will kick-off at 18h00.
Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki will use this FIFA window to prepare his charges for the important back-to-back AFCON 2021 Cameroon qualifiers against Sao Tome in November.
South Africa play Sao Tome on 12 November 2020 at FNB Stadium and travel away for the return game four days later on 16 November 2020.
Europe-based, Keagan Dolly, Thibang Phete and Luther Singh have all arrived in the camp and took part in the training session, while star striker Percy Tau and Lyle Foster are expected to arrive later on Tuesday or early Wednesday.
AmaZulu sensation Siyethemba Sithebe has also arrived and was enthusiastic to be part of the senior national team, so was coach Ntseki.
“I am glad that the team has finally settled down and ready to get the ball rolling after Monday’s frustrations with the rains,” said Ntseki.
“We had a light session with a lot of ball work to allow the players to get back into full swing. They were very eager to get back onto the pitch and reunite after such a long time. I believe that everything we had been working on before COVID-19 just came back to the senior players, while the newcomers also adapted very easily.
“We will work on our game tactics in our video session later today and focus more in depth on Namibia in tomorrow’s session,” added Ntseki.
