4 May 2018 – The SAFA SAB League is currently at a critical juncture across all streams throughout the country, none more so than in Kwa-Zula Natal’s exciting Uthukela Stream A region.
Zamanani FC are storming towards the title as an interesting round of fixtures await this upcoming weekend.
Saturday will see bottom of the log Happy Hearts FC hosting Blue Mountain FC at the Nkuthu Sports Grounds at 15:00. Hearts will be desperate for points while Mountain will be looking to tighten up at the back.
Flamingo FC will then entertain L/Smith Comb in Mgazini with both teams looking to move up the log. Flamingo currently sit in eighth place while their rivals occupy fifth.
Third placed Vultures FC will welcome Mathondwane FC in what should be an exciting contest between two teams at opposite ends of the table. Vultures are still mathematically in the running for top spot while their opponents will be looking to improve on ninth place.
Punishers FC then travel to Peace Lovers’ Skop Stadium in a top four battle that is sure to draw a good crowd. Punishers are hot on the heels of the leaders with 35 points from 17 completed games (a mere 7 points adrift), while Peace Lovers will be hoping to cement fourth spot.
The weekend’s final fixture will see table-toppers Zamanani FC at home against Top Six FC in Thusong. The pace-setters have 42 points from 17 matches with only a solitary loss and an impressive +32 goal difference. Another 3 points will be much welcomed while Top Six languish in tenth spot with the worst goal difference of -34.
