31 January 2018 – The SAB League in the SAFA Frances Baard in the region has reached fever pitch after 12 rounds of matches that have taken place for the 2017/18 season . The largest football development league in the country which boasts over 30 000 players provides the perfect platform for aspiring footballers under the age of 21 to showcase their talent.
PES Porto FC are currently the trendsetters in the Frances Baard region of the league with 32 points from 12 matches. Their recent 4-1 thrashing of Kwa-Nobantu Celtics sees them stretch their lead to six points ahead of Phokwane Stars FC who dropped a vital two points when they drew with Macarena FC over the weekend.
Tswelopele are steadily working their way up the table after clinching a hard fought 3-2 away win to FC Barcelona which now sees them sit fourth on the log.
Further down, The Students FC still have a lot of learning to do as they languish at the bottom of the log with a disappointing three points from 12 matches. Bonita’s Sundowns are on the same number of points with a slightly better goal difference.
Amakipkip, Chicken Inn and FC Barcelona are all flirting with the danger of the dagger. All three teams sit with 12 points from the same number of matches and could find themselves in danger should they fail to pick up vital wins in their next rounds of matches.
