20 October 2023 – The 2023 Sasol League National Championships final this coming Sunday, (22 October 2023) is expected to be an emotional affair, when Lindelani Ladies from KwaZulu Natal take on University of Fort Hare from the Eastern Cape.
Lindelani Ladies has waited many years to represent their province in the final of the prestigious tournament, while the University of Fort Hare find themselves as finalists in their first appearance.
The two teams will be playing for the first prize of R200 000 while the runners-up will walk away with R100 000.
The cherry on top ahead of the final for both teams is that they have gained promotion into Hollywoodbets Super League next season.
Lindelani Ladies beat Ramatlaohle Ladies from Limpopo 3-0 in the first semi-final of the Sasol League National Championships.
The determined side from KwaZulu Natal came guns blazing and very determined to win the semi-final and gain promotion after years of trying.
The second semi-final was another mouth-watering affair which was concluded through penalties as both Crouses Ladies and the University of Fort Hare badly wanted a ticket to the final.
The match ended 2-2 after a very tight match. The University of Fort Hare were the ultimate winners after beating Crouses 5-4 on penalties.
The Sasol League National Championships final will be played on Sunday, 22 October 2023 at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
