26 September: The 2023 Sasol League National Championship tournament promises to be another thrilling encounter where nine provincial winners will compete to be the 2023 Sasol League National Champions.

The Championship will be held at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State from 16 – 22 October 2023.  


The winner of this competition will receive a grand prize of R200 000.00.

The second position will win R100 000.00, while the third-placed team will receive R60 000.00 In addition the top two teams will be promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League.  


The Sasol League provides young and aspiring women footballers opportunities at an entry level where they can pursue their football careers, aiming not only to excel but to also achieve at the highest level within South Africa and abroad.  


Speaking at the launch and draw of the Sasol League National Championship, Nozipho Mbatha, Sasol Senior Manager: Group Brand and Sponsorships invited the public to believe in the dreams of the young women who play in the Sasol League under the bold statement – Believe in Her Dreams with Sasol League  because this is where dreams grow. It is the launchpad for future national team players.


“Through this campaign and initiatives we will be executing, we want young athletes to see the Sasol League tournament as that stepping stone that will open their worlds to opportunities in the football fraternity.

The Sasol League stands tall as the premier semi-professional platform – the very birthplace of dreams and through this League, we are determined to stimulate a future where women shine in all spheres.  


“Sasol’s aim is not only to develop the teams in terms of the football they play, but we want to provide knowledge and a deep understanding of the sport because by supporting the Sasol League, we are not just backing women’s football; we are investing in the pursuit of dreams and inspiring greatness.  


We have shining examples of athletes who have come through the Sasol League pipeline and are now plying their traits on international fields. We also have those who play in our local league, which include representing the country in green and gold as Banyana Banyana players.

The Sasol League tournament has been a massive foundation and has produced an unending supply of players, and this priceless pipeline has made so many dreams possible,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao. 


The tournament will consist of nine group stages and three knock out matches as follows:

  • · Group Stages (17 – 19 October) – broadcast on Sasol and SAFA social and digital media platforms
  • · Semi Final (20 October) – broadcast on SABC Sport Channel
  • · Final (22 October) – broadcast on SABC 1
