4 July 2023 – The 2023 SA Schools Championships got underway this afternoon at the Benoni Northern’s Club where the youth from around South Africa came together to compete in their different sporting codes.
The tournament runs from 4-6 July 2023.
Football is represented by three age groups for both girls and boys. The U15, U17 and U19 deaf are all competing for the title of SA Schools Champions.
The U15 tournament is the qualifier for the CAF Schools Championships, where the two ultimate winners will represent South Africa at the continental youth showpiece, which will be held in October 2023.
Two-time reigning CAF Schools Champions Edendale Technical School is once again leading the pack in the girl’s category, while the U15 boys tournament will be highly contested by the 9 Provincial teams.
