4 September 2022 – Brazil beat Banyana Banyana 6-0 in a friendly international played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to complete a successful tour of South Africa on Monday night.
Goals from Adriana Leal da Silva, Debora de Oliveira (brace), a Beatriz Joao penalty, Maria da Silva and Kathellen Sousa put the game out of the Sasol-sponsored South African senior women’s national team’s reach.
The South Americans beat their hosts 3-0 in the first friendly at Orlando Stadium last week and will be pleased that they managed to score nine goals over the two games.
Banyana Banyana and Brazil have qualified for the Women’s World Cup to be played in Australia and New Zealand next year and both teams used the two matches as part of their preparations for the tournament.
