09 August 2022 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) marked this year’s Women’s Day by celebrating the many amazing women at the Association’s headquarters in Nasrec.

The outbreak of Covid-19 had prevented gatherings of this nature in the last couple of years and the many women who descended on SAFA House to mark the occasion were in fine spirit, and they happily honoured the achievements that have been notched in the midst of a trying period for the whole globe.

The motivational speakers were charismatic ladies with relatable stories that everyone in the room was able to relate to with ease.

Progress Kuzwayo, Lydia Monyepao, Sibongile Mogale, Anna Seemola from #PheliWines and Dr Maureen Tong gave the ladies valuable learnings they will cherish forever.

It was a day of motivation, inspiration and support that will have given those in the room and many others an opportunity to see in the world in a different light, and as a result foster change. The theme this year was Bold, Beautiful and encouraged to be Brave.

Several partners put their hands up in support of the day and a special thank you to Skin and Body Aesthetics and beauty Bar treatments, and our valued sponsors SASOL and Hollywoodbets.

The attendees were pampered with manicures, pedicures and other wonderful gifts on the day to remember.

No event is complete without a bit of dancing and Simply Entertainment had everybody on their feet.

Fun was the order of the day as the events were also in celebration of the SASOL-sponsored Banyana Banyana’s WAFCON triumph in Morocco.

“The day was a huge success. Taking care of the nurturers of this earth will always be close to my heart,” said event organiser and SAFA’s Human Resources Manager Lerato Mabuso after pulling off another successful gathering.
