31 January 2020– Top South African referee, Victor Gomes, has been invited to an elite FIFA Referees seminar in Doha, Qatar, taking place from 9 – 13 March 2020.

Gomes, who recently returned from the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup in Brazil (26 October to 17 November 2019), is part of the 35 match officials – 16 of them females – invited by the world football governing body to be part of preparations for future FIFA competitions.

He has also been in charge of some of the high profile CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup matches.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are each represented by 16 match officials with the other three from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).

There are three COSAFA representatives that will be attending the seminar – Gomes, as well as well as two females – Viana Letticia (Swaziland) and Rivet Maria (Mauritius).
