6 September 2019 – The University of Cape Town are fast closing in on Vasco da Gama’s lead in the Western Cape Sasol League following their ruthless 9-2 victory over Milano United.
Catching up to the log leaders will certainly not be an easy task for the University side. Vasco were also in action this past weekend where they continued their high-scoring form with a 4-0 drubbing over Matties to maintain their four-point lead at the summit.
Both sides are in action this weekend with the log leaders taking on bottom placed LIDZ FC in what should be a comfortable win for Vasco if stats are anything to go by.
UCT on the other hand have a tricky away encounter against the unpredictable Manenberg Ladies. Manenberg are 13th on the table but can be very dangerous at home on a good day and could cause an upset against their more fancied opponents.
Not to be written off the title race is Spurs WFC who are third on the table with the same number of points as UCT who have a better goal difference. Spurs face the wounded Matties at away from in a Friday evening clash which promises to produce fireworks.
Another exciting clash to look forward to this evening is a mid-table clash between Milano United and Santos at 20h00 this evening.
