4 July 2019 – There has been a late change to the field for the inaugural COSAFA Women’s Under-20 Championships to be held in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, with Mozambique replacing Malawi in the line-up of eight sides.
The draw was made for the competition on Wednesday (3 July) and will now see Mozambique take their place in Group A along with hosts South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe for the August 1-11 tournament
Group B contains Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania and Eswatini.
The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinals, when the competition moves into a knockout format.The tournament is being held concurrently with the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Championship, which runs from July 31-August 11.
