4 March 2019 – The final rounds of fixtures in Gauteng’s ABC Motsepe League will be like cup finals for the top three sides. After dropping valuable points in their previous fixtures, log leaders, Baberwa FC are back to winning ways as they put up a great performance away from home with a 3-1 win over Alexandra United.
Not to be outdone by their title chasing rivals, JDR Stars dug deep against a highly spirited Swallows FC with a 1-0 victory that assured them the three points required to keep the log leaders on their toes.
Up next for Baberwa is a clash against two bottom of the table sides, XI Experience and FC Ma-Lions. Experience cruised past Alexandra Black Aces with a 3-1 win this weekend. While Ma-Lions were edged 1-0 by Pele Pele FC, making it their 16th loss of the season.
The big clash which the whole of Gauteng will be looking forward to will be on 23 March when Baberwa take on JDR Stars in what could possibly be the title decider.
Both clubs are equal on points which will most likely still be the case when the two sides clash.
Preceding the clash with Baberwa, Stars will have had to face Pele Pele FC as well as bottom of the table Alexandra Black Aces who will be looking at causing an upset as they continue their fight with the relegation dagger.
