10 August 2018 – With the season reaching it’s halfway mark, there is very little that separates Thunderbirds Ladies and City Lads at the top of the table. Ladies narrowly lead Lads by a mere point with the second placed side giving it their all to topple the log leaders at the top.
Both sides are playing away from home this weekend any know that any drop of points could be quite costly in their title ambitions. The log leaders face fifth-placed Red Roses Ladies on Saturday, 11 August while Lads take on the unpredictable Golden Stars.
Lads are at the back of a 2-0 win over Manchester Babes which was preceded by a hard-fought 1-0 win over Red Roses while the log leaders have been ruthless in front of goal having put two past Amanqilo Birds and thrashing a hapless Bashee Eagles FC 4-2.Third placed Executive Ladies who also stand a fair chance of competing for the title will be looking at collecting maximum points when the host 14th placed Cumakala FC who have only managed two wins from 16 outings this season.
Highbury FC are aiming to move away from the relegation danger zone but have it tough this weekend as they face Birminham City FC who have been in impressive form this season having registered 11 wins out of 17 fixtures.
