The Sasol sponsored South African Women’s National team (Banyana Banyana) is eager to impress ahead of the African Women championships when they play Zimbabwe in an international friendly on Thursday, 10 November 2016.
Banyana Banyana will play the Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe in their last international friendly match at the National Sports Stadium.
“We are very excited to be in Zimbabwe and proud of how far they have come in international football. We along with the Mighty Warriors were the only representatives of Africa in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. And the fact that we are the only two countries from COSAFA going to the Women’s AFCON, means we are the best two sides in the Region,” says captain Janine Van Wyk.
“We want to use this international friendly to work on formations. We have a few new faces in the team and they need some game time to get used to how we play,” concluded Van Wyk.
