24 September 2024 – Gauteng beat Western Cape 2-1 in a thrilling final of the inaugural Girls edition of the TDS Interprovincial Tournament, on 24 September 2024, at the Panorama Football Club, in Roodepoort.

Both teams gave a good performance throughout the tournament, as Gauteng won on their group stage matches, while Western Cape managed two wins and a draw and their group stage matches.

Gauteng had to dig deep to narrowly beat Free State 2-1 in the semifinals, while Western Cape hammered Northern Cape 8-0 to breeze into the final.

The Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Interprovincial tournament is designed to for players from the nine different provinces to showcase their talent, and hopefully be selected to form the pool of U15 national team players. A group of 25 players were selected over the two-day girls tournament, by national scout. This group of players will be monitored and will be invited to a national team camp in the near future as the South African Football Association begins preparing for its junior national team’s programs for 2025.

Congratulations to KwaZulu Natal Goalkeeper Isabello Hall for walking away with the goalkeeper of the tournament award, along with Western Cape’s Lethuthando Mthembu for been named Player of the Tournament.
