3 February 2023 – The year 2023 will see Sasol Banyana Banyana taking part in their second consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup in July and most of the players are currently making big moves abroad.
Banyana Banyana forward Thembi Kgatlana recently made her big move to USA based side Racing Louisville after recovering from a long-term injury she sustained during the 2022 AWCON tournament in Morocco. The move to the USA follows her impressive spell with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
Another Banyana Banyana sensation Jermaine Seoposenwe has settled well in her Mexican home base of Juarez FC after a successful spell at SC Braga in Portugal.
Noxolo Cesane will now join her in the Mexican League after she concluded her move from French based State de Reims to Tigres Femenil.
One of Banyana Banyana’s co-captains Refiloe Jane has also made a great move having left AC Milan in Italy to join Sassuolo also in Italy, while long-standing captain Janine Van Wyk has moved back to Europe to represent Greek side Ergotelis after captaining her South African based club JVW Ladies in the 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League season.
The flamboyant Linda Motlhalo has moved to Scottish giants Glasgow City after her spell at Djurgardens in Sweden, while Noko Matou and Leandra Smeda are still standing strong at Spanish based clubs SD Eibar and UD Logrones respectively.
