21 January 2023 – Plans to pit Banyana Banyana against European opposition as part of coach Desiree Ellis’ preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup are set to be finalised in the coming days.
The discussions are at an advanced stage and the South African Football Association (SAFA) will announce the details as soon as the talks have been concluded. The SASOL-sponsored Banyana Banyana will no longer participate in the Cyprus Women’s Cup next month but Ellis’ charges will not be inactive during that period as she eyes other European opposition.
