26 November 2022 – MYSAFA head of support Bantu Romeo Ngxolo was laid to rest today in his home village of Tentergate, EC, after passing on 12 November, in Despatch, EC.
SAFA Head of Competitions Moremi Klip, spoke highly of Romeo’s contributions to football.
“I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the family of Romeo and to the Inqaku team,” said Klip. “We have lost a soldier of technology and football development. We hope that his family and Inqaku employees will find peace. We will miss his contributions to football.”
During more than five years leading the MYSAFA support team, Romeo assisted SAFA staff at all levels of the sport to setup leagues, register players, and complete countless other tasks. His humble, patient demeanor was well known in the SA amateur football community. Over the past year Romeo also became instrumental in helping hundreds of clubs to qualify for and receive free Inqaku kit.
Jason Anderson, Inqaku COO, also sent condolences to Romeo’s family and everyone else he touched through his work.
“Romeo loved his family first and foremost, but he also loved helping people,” Anderson explained. “His joy in combining his passion for football with his servant’s heart was obvious to anyone whom he assisted or worked with. It’s hard to imagine ever filling his massive shoes. We will miss him terribly.”
SAFA also wishes to express its condolences to Romeo’s family, friends, and colleagues. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
