19 October 2022 –  South Africa’s Under-23 coach David Notoane is happy to have almost all his players in camp as he prepares the team for this weekend’s away Morocco 2023 AFCON Second Round qualifier against Togo.

Notoane said they have been hard at work ahead of the tricky away trip to the West African country and the only missing players are the duo of Kamogelo Mahlangu and Aphelele Teto, who will be playing in a league match for their club TS Galaxy against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night.

“I am very happy to have almost everybody in camp,” he said. “We are hard at work, and we appreciate the support we have received from the clubs. It has not been easy.”

The return match will be played at Orlando Stadium on the weekend of October 28-30 and as the two matches against Togo will be played outside of the FIFA calendar, Notoane, who led the U23s to the Tokyo Olympics last year, is happy to finally knuckle down to some hard work as the South Africa begins this Olympic journey.
