3 October 2022 – Banyana Banyana reported for camp in Johannesburg on Monday 3 October 2022 ahead of the team’s trip to the United Kingdom where they will play Australia in a friendly international on Saturday, 8 October at the Kingsmeadow stadium in London.
The SASOL-sponsored South African senior women’s team will have their first training session on Monday evening and the second on Tuesday afternoon, which will also be a Media Open Day to allow journalists an opportunity to touch base before the side departs to the UK.
The friendly match is part of the team’s continued preparations for the 2023 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Coach Desiree Ellis will know the identity of Banyana Banyana’s group opponents at the World Cup when she attends the tournament draw set to take place in New Zealand on 22 October 2022
