1 July 2022 – The senior Women’s national team have spent more than a week in Morocco after arriving on Wednesday 22 June ahead of the start of the WAFCON (Women’s Africa Cup of Nations) set for 2-23 July 2022.

With a huge tournament like the WAFCON, people often wonder what a typical day is like in the Banyana Banyana camp and this diary will give a peak into life inside coach Desiree Ellis’ squad.   

Upon arrival in camp, the team operates on a strict schedule that consists of day-to-day activities. 

So we picked one day in Morocco to allow people to get the picture and be part of Banyana Banyana.

Wake up call: 09:00am

This is usually the time the players wake up to bath and get ready for the day.

Breakfast

10:00 am

A separate dining hall is usually arranged by the hotel to allow the national team players to have their meals.

Walk/Stretch

10:45

Usually this takes place after breakfast to allow the players to stretch and relax their minds. The walk is guided by the Physical trainer/Strength and Conditioning coach.

11:00 Stretch session 

Lunch

14:00pm 

This where the players get to bond and relax as a team.

Snack

17:00

With the late afternoon training in Morocco, the players are provided with snacks to sustain them just before departure to the training session.

This time is very important as it guides the players and staff members as to when they should be in the team bus. Time management serves as one the most important aspects of a football camp.

The training session commences and it is led by the technical team.
