30 June 2022 – In the aftermath of the recent past SAFA Elective Congress, the South African Football Association has started initiatives to develop working relationships with various football legends.

This week, SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan and South African Masters Legends FA President Buddha Mathathe, have been meeting legends to see how they can work together and contribute towards the growth of the sport.

SAMLFA President Mathathe said the meeting was to encourage various stakeholders to join hands and speak with one voice in a bid to build and protect the SAFA brand. He also said he had liaised with the players in a bid to incorporate them within SAMLFA and build a stronger and united organisation.

Mathathe said in all of his engagements with the legends, he had underscored the need to work as a collective for the benefit of South African football.

Mathathe set the ball rolling on Tuesday when he met with former Bafana Bafana, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns legend Brian Baloyi.
Two days later both Dr Jordaan and Mathathe met Doctor Khumalo and Sibusiso Zuma where the four unanimously agreed to work together with the SAFA leadership to advance the beautiful game.

‘’Elections are over and we now want to chart the way forward with regards to developing and taking the sport forward. Our meeting with various legends was progressive, open and very fruitful. We want to work together to take our sport to the next level,’’ said Mathathe.
