9 March 2022 – High-flying South African National Supporters (SANASU) Secretary General, Mama Joy Chauke, has been invited to attend the Qatar 2022 World Cup draw scheduled for Doha on 1 April 2022.

The invite says Mama Joy had exclusively been invited to the draw because of her passion for football, loyalty to South Africa’s national teams and her ability to engage and excite football fans around the world.

‘’We are offering you a once-in-a-lifetime experience to visit Qatar and attend the draw,’’ read part of the invite from the 2022 World Cup organisers.

The energetic Mama Joy, who recently made headlines when she left her childhood team Orlando Pirates to join flamboyant Durban side Royal AM, said being invited to attend the draw in Qatar was huge.

She leaves the country on 28 March and returns on 3 April. Also on the same trip will be a SAFA delegation consisting of President, Dr Danny Jordaan, his deputy Dr Irvin Khoza and CEO Adv Tebogo Motlanthe who are travelling to Doha for the FIFA Congress.

‘’This is massive because I will not only be representing my organisation SANASU but will be doing this for my Association (SAFA), South Africa and COSAFA,’’ she beamed.

‘’I will be among a few global faces of soccer fans at the draw. Provisionally, they have promised that a few more fans from South Africa that include SANASU President, Saddam Maake will make the trip during the World Cup tournament and we intend to leave a lasting impression there.”

Mama Joy said she wanted to thank SAFA for this opportunity.

‘’I would want to take this opportunity to thank SAFA, especially President Danny Jordaan for embracing us supporters as critical stakeholders of the game,’’ she added.SANASU President Saddam Maake said his organisation was happy for this invite and will be at OR Tambo International Airport to see Mama Joy off to Qatar.
