9 February 2022 – Vasco Da Gama from Western Cape secured their first 3 points in the ongoing Sasol League National Championships currently underway in KwaZulu Natal when they hammered overwhelmed Royal Wizards 8-1. 


A brace by Pertule Petersen and and 6 goals from her other teammates put the Western Cape side second in Group A while City Lads Ladies lead the standings on goal difference after hammering Wizards 12-3 on Day 1 of the national championships. 


Croesus Ladies also went top of group B when they beat Tswelelang De’Scopions 2-0 in their opening match of the champions. 


Hosts Lindelani Ladies entertained the masses as they beat Copperbelt Ladies 4-1 in the last match of Day 2 to go top of Group C. Zethembiso Vilakazi who went on to be crowned Diski Queen scored a brace and assisted in the other two goals.


Day 3 of the national championships is set to see more drama and entertainment when the semi-finalists are decided.


Vasco Da Gama take on City Lads Ladies in the 09h30 match to decide the winner of group A while Lindelani Ladies take on Ixias FC in a 12h30 kick off in which Group C winners will be confirmed. 


TS Galaxy will be looking to upset the log standings of Group B when they take on Croesus Ladies at 15h30.
