28 October 2021 – South Africa’s distinguished referee Victor Gomes will officiate the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar qualifier between Algeria and Burkina Faso on 16 November 2021 at Mustapha Tchacker Stadium in Algeria.


Algeria and Burkina Faso are neck on neck in their Group and the winner will book a ticket for final CAF qualifying matches for a place at Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.


Gomes will be accompanied by three other South African officials, prolific first assistant referee Zakhele Siwela, second assistant Athenkosi Ndongeni and fourth official Thando Ndzandzeka.


Mali’s Koman Coulibaly will be the Referee Assessor for this match while Jamal Kaouachi from Morocco will be the Match Commissioner.
