1 October 2021 – The Hollywoodbets Super League is the gift that keeps on giving. The teams in the league have been banging in the goals to be crowned champions at the end of the action-packed season.

The teams have also been keeping their eyes on another prize, and that is to score the most goals for charity.

During Women’s Month, the teams took their attacking flair up a notch as they scored goals to help non-profit organisations serve various communities.

In August, Hollywoodbets ran an initiative where every team would initially get R5 000 to donate to a charity of their choice, and every goal scored by the team from 14 – 29 August would contribute an additional R1 000 to the final amount they would hand over.

During this period the teams scored 49 goals and R119,000 was dedicated towards various NPOs.

JVW Ladies were the team that contributed the most with R21 000 as they scored 16 goals.

Hollywoodbets Commercial Manager, Sandisiwe Bhengu, said, “We are excited as Hollywoodbets to see how enthusiastically teams responded to our initiative. The 49 goals that have been scored during this initiative show the intensity and passion the ladies have for the game. What is even more beautiful is that R119,000 has been raised for various non-profit organisations around the country.

Giving back to the community is part of Hollywoodbets’ DNA and we are proud to have partnered with SAFA to find a way to make a difference in people’s lives through the Beautiful Game of soccer.”

“This was an exciting initiative that will certainly go a long way in uplifting the communities involved, especially in these difficult times.

Thanks to the Hollywoodbets Super League teams for responding so well with all those goals that raised R119,000 for the various charities. Thanks also to our sponsors, Hollywoodbets and everyone involved in making this brilliant CSI project a success” added SAFA COO, Lydia Monyepao.
