16 July 2021 – They’ve managed under trying times to outclass, and today in their semi-final against Mozambique they did just that. A 3-0 scoreline in favour of South Africa ushers them through the doors to the much anticipated final.
“These players give their all. They listen. They don’t complain. They work hard, they ask questions in every single session we have had, they have given more than 100 percent. Any obstacles we’ve faced, we did it as team and today you could see it all come together. We played amazing football and all the credit goes to these young men who have elevated the name Bafana Bafana tonight,” said Coach Morena Ramereboli.
Today’s semi-final encounter was the last hurdle en-route to the final with Njabulo Ngcobo, Moegamat Maart and Victor Letsoalo getting their names on the score sheet. Letsoalo gets credit as the highest goal scorer to date in the tournament and Maart walks away with back to back ‘man of the match’ awards.
“I am so proud. So proud of this young team and what they’ve shown us game after game. We’re through to the final and I have goosebumps just thinking about what these players will be capable of come Sunday,” brimmed HOD (Head of Delegation), Aubrey Baartman.
