17 June 2021 – After a one-week break, the Sasol League virtual Roadshow is on the move again, and this time it is heading to Potchefstroom, in the North West Province.

Banyana Banyana Head Coach Desiree Ellis will host another workshop for local Sasol League coaches, and this will be held on Saturday, 19 June 2021.

Due to strict Covid-19 regulations only head coaches have been invited – with many more following on-line, as the event will be streamed live on the Sasol League and SAFA Facebook pages.

Among other things, Ellis will touch on topics like player performance, technical and tactical strategies and what happens in the Banyana Banyana camp. She will also use the opportunity to talk to the coaches about their players, their plans and preparations to take their game to a higher level.

“It is of utmost importance that all the teams are represented at the workshop. This is an opportunity that our province must not take for granted and should be grabbed with both hands. So we are calling on those who have been invited to set aside a time to attend this crucial gathering for the benefit of their clubs, and by extension, of the entire province,” said SAFA NW representative Matsobane Tebatjo Matsi.

“It is not often that we have this kind of event in the North West, where the Head Coach of the national team sets aside a time to engage our coaches and players – this will go a long way in boostign the morale of everyone involved.”

With the workshop scheduled for Saturday, the following day (Sunday, 20 June 2021) will see two matches played at the North West University Potch Sports Campus on

In the first game, Bianca Academy FC will face Keleku FC and then NWU Tawana FC will go toe to toe with De’ Scorpion FC – at 10h30 and 13h30 respectively.

These two matches will also be streamed live.

The North West Province becomes the fourth stop for Ellis, who has already been to Bloemfontein (Free State); Durban (KwaZulu Natal) and just recently, Gqeberha (Eastern Cape).

“We have had such great support and engagements in all the three provinces we have been to, and we are confident we will enjoy another session in the North West. I would just like to appeal to other coaches who will not physically be at the workshop to follow us online on the Sasol League and SAFA Facebook pages and they can also send in their questions and comments,” said Ellis.
