12 April 2021 – Spain-based striker Amanda Mthandi says that she has learnt that if you believe in something, you should go for it – and that is exaclty what she did when got an offer to play in Europe.
Mthandi is back in South Africa and she is part of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana squad that is in camp for two international friendly matches against Zambia and Botswana.
They have already won the first fixture – coming from behind to defeat Zambia 3-1 with two goals from defender Noko Matlou, while Thembi Kgatlana chipped in with the third.
Mthandi believes that they have a team good enough to beat Botswana, whom they face on Tuesday (13 April 2021) at Wits University Stadium in Johannesburg.
Kickoff is at 15h00.
Mthandi was an unused substitute in the clash against Zambia as she arrived late in camp – she is confident that they will continue where they left off when they play Botswana in a grudge match.
She hasn’t played for Banyana Banyana since November 2019.
Mthandi explains the importance of a win on Tuesday and also talks about her life in Spain.
