9 April 2021 – Spain-based Banyana Banyana defender Noko Matlou says she is living her dream.

The Limpopo-born player has found herself a home at SD Eibar where she plays alongside compatriot, South African striker Thembi Kgatlana.

She has represented the South Africa Women’s National Team both as a striker and a defender. In 2008, Matlou became the first South African to be named African Women’s Footballer of the Year.

But it was only several years later that she realised her dream of playing abroad.

Matlou is back in South Africa and is part of the squad that will face Zambia and Botswana in two international friendly matches on Saturday (10 April 2021) and Tuesday (13 April 2021).

The fixtures will be played at the Bidvest Wits Stadium in Johannesburg and both will kickoff at 15h00.

In a wide ranging interview, Matlou had this to say:
