8 April 2021 – Spain-based striker Thembi Kgatlana says she is enjoying her football in Spain, where she has already scored 10 goals since the start of the season.

Despite lockdown regulations, Kgatlana and her teammate, Noko Matlou as well as Amanda Mthandi –have been allowed to join the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana for two international friendly matches against Zambia and Botswana.

The two encounters take place on Saturday (10 April) and Tuesday (13 April) at Bidvest Wits Stadium.

Kickoff is at 15h00.

Kgatlana was last in the South African Senior Women’s National Team squad back in November 2019 when they went down to Japan away.

In a wide-ranging interview at the Banyana Banyana camp, Kgatlana spoke about – among others – the journey that saw her land in Spain; missing out on the Olympics; Covid-19, the clash against Zambia and Botswana on Saturday (10 April) and Tuesday (13 April) respectively.
