5 March 2021 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) would like to send its heartfelt condolences to the Khune family following the passing of Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune’s sister, Mapula on Thursday, 4 March 2021.
‘’On behalf of SAFA and the football fraternity, I would like to offer my condolences to the Khune family on their loss. We hope the Almighty will give you strength during this difficult period. May the soul of Mapula rest in peace,’’ said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.
Mapula Khune died on Thursday morning after the room in which she was sleeping caught fire in Ventersdorp in the North West Province.
