10 February 2021 – CAF Presidential candidate Dr Patrice Motsepe and his team which included SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan, left for Doha, Qatar on Tuesday night to continue with their campaign which has seen them traversing the African continent in recent past.

Dr Motsepe and his team returned to South Africa on Monday morning from Yaoundé, Cameroon and the following day were on the road again.

In Qatar, they are expected to meet more African FA Presidents and other global role players as the campaign reaches the home stretch. Most FA Presidents are in Qatar for the World Club championships.

In Cameroon, Dr Motsepe and his team met several FA Presidents in which he articulated his vision for the continental body that has of late been bedevilled by maladministration and financial bankruptcy.

His mostly one-on-one meetings with the FA Presidents in Cameroon involved those from West, North, CECAFA and COSAFA Regions. In his engagements that were warmly received all round, Dr Motsepe emphasised the need for Africa to have a fresh start and become a global giant again.

The CAF Elections will take place on 12 March in Morocco and will be contested by Dr Motsepe, Augustin Senghor from Senegal, Ivorian Jacques Anouma and Ahmed Yahya, the Mauritania Football Federation President.

From Qatar, Team Motsepe will convene a COSAFA Meeting before embarking on a trip to CECAFA, North and West Africa.
