8 December 2020 – The Kwamahlobo Festive Games organising Committee with all its stakeholders, had been closely monitoring the COVID 19 pandemic in hope that we would be able to safely host the annual Kwamahlobo Festive Games.
Based on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on 3 December 2020, the Kwamahlobo Games Committee together with its partners and Sponsors decided to cancel this season’s Kwamahlobo Festive Games 2020/1 event. The event was planned for 23 December 2020 – 5 January 2021.
As difficult as this decision is, bearing in mind the rich history of the tournament and the number of employment opportunities it creates for local business, the safety of players, staff, fans and all stakeholders is of utmost importance.
We therefore encourage people to stay safe, wear masks and practise good hygiene while avoiding crowded places.
We are however excited to announce that we are working tirelessly on launching a revamped KwaMahlobo Pre-Season Games which could possibly kick off early next year.
Plans of staging the annual KwaMahlobo Easter Games are also still very much in place while we monitor the current covid-19 situation.

Yours sincerely
KwaMahlobo Games Committee
