10 October 2020 – The South African Senior Men’s National Team, Bafana Bafana will be looking for a win when they take on Zambia on Sunday, 11 October 2020, in their second match of this FIFA window.

The match will be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium and kick offs at 15h00.

Bafana Bafana played to a 1-1 draw against Namibia on Thursday night and will be looking to build from that as they continue to prepare for their back-to-back 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome; which are scheduled for next month.

Head Coach Molefi Ntseki has reiterated the importance of these friendly matches and the fact that they are working on a bigger plan.

“We will go out guns blazing tomorrow as we need to get the result to boost our confidence before our qualifiers.

‘’Against Namibia we rested a few senior players who will be given a run tomorrow as we continue looking at different combinations,” said Ntseki.

“I believe the debutants did well under the circumstances in the match against Namibia and the more senior players will have to do even better tomorrow against Zambia as we continue to prepare for our AFCON qualifiers.

‘’We are hoping for an improved performance against Zambia, because they are a different team. Their approach, physicality and strengths are different to what we faced on Thursday. We are hoping to give our best against such a strong opponent,” concluded Ntseki.

Zambia lost 2-1 in their first international friendly against Kenya on Friday and these results do not bother Ntseki as tomorrow will be a different ball game altogether.

“Their past results do not mean much to us. They are also in preparation mode just like us.

‘’Everyone knows that South Africa versus Zambia is a derby match and this is where we will draw strength from. We will rest some players and some will get a run. Our most important areas of focus tomorrow will be the technical, tactical and mental approve to the game,’’ said Ntseki.
