6 March 2020 – New Namibia Football Association President, Mr Ranga Haikali paid a courtesy visit to the South African Football Association (SAFA) offices on Friday, 6 March 2020 where he met with SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan and acting CEO, Gay Mokoena.

Mr Haikali was accompanied by Acting Secretary General, Mr Franco Cosmos.

He gave an overview of the political climate in Namibia and the recently held elections which ushered him into office.

He emphasised the need for close cooperation between Namibia and SAFA saying such relationship is steeped in historical cooperation of the two nations.

The Namibia FA President said while he was here in South Africa for other businesses, he said it was imperative to touch base with his counterparts at SAFA.

He took the opportunity to extend an invitation for a national side to play in the annual Hage Geingob Cup which will also coincide with Namibia’s 30th Independence Anniversary.

Mr Haikali suggested that SAFA and Namibia as close partners, sign a Memorandum of Understanding in which the two FAs should cooperate in a number of areas.

These include the technical areas, induction courses, functions and other areas such as commercial and capacity building.
