5 February 2020 – SAFA’s International Relations Affairs met on Wednesday, 5 February 2020 at SAFA House to discuss various matters including looking at the international calendar and threat posed by the Coronavirus.

The committee is chaired by SAFA President and consists of all vice-presidents, NEC members Natasha Tsichlas, Pooby Govindasamy and Mxolisi Sibam.

Some of the issues deliberated at the meeting revolve around the fixtures of the U23 Olympic team whose preparations were scheduled for the Far East but because of the debilitating Coronavirus, there is need to reconsider some of their programme.

Bafana Bafana are also involved in a hectic schedule which involve the AFCON Cameroon 2021 and 2022 FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Banyana Banyana will begin their preparations for AWCON in June while both Bantwana and Basetsana are involved in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“The year 2020 is going to be an extremely busy year for all our national teams and it is prudent that we make proper preparations on all fronts,” said SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan.
