8 December 2019 – Helman Mkhalele has made two changes to the squad that will face Madagascar in the second match of the 2019 COSAFA U-20 Men’s Championship currently underway in Lusaka, Zambia.

The South African U-20 Men’s National Team will face their Madagascar counterparts this afternoon (Sunday, 8 December 2019) at Sunset Stadium.

Kickoff is at 15h30.

Mkhalele will hand two new caps to goalkeeper Bontle Molefe, former U-17 goal minder, who comes in the place of Olwethu Mzimela, as well as midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja, who replaces Keegan Mitchell.

The back four remains intact with Nelson Ralenkoane and Siyanda Msani as full backs, while Bilal Baloyi and Athenkosi Mcaba will partner in central defence.

In midfield, Rasebotja will join Mohammed Shahabodien and captain Rowen Human.

Flying on the wings will be Oswin Appolis and Rahim Milazi while Sinenjongo Mkiva will be the lone striker upfront.

South Africa will be hoping they continue where they left off against Mauritius in the first match of the 2019 competition – they scored five without any response from the Islanders, with Mkiva, Mitchell, Mcaba and Appolis (2) all getting on the scoresheet.

Madagascar also come into the match with their heads up after a 3-0 win over Lesotho.
