7 December 2019 – The South African U-20 Men’s National Team (Amajita) believes that being prepared and confident will win the day against Madagascar in the second Group B clash in the 2019 COSAFA U-20 Men’s Championship.

The two countries clash on Sunday, 8 December at the Sunset Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia.

Both nations teams won their opening matches, with South Africa beating Mauritius 5-0 while Madagascar brushed aside Lesotho 3-0.

A win for either of them will see them into the top four.

Amajita midfielder Mohammed Shahabodien, says they have to discount the previous result and focus on the assignement ahead.

“We need to go in prepare and confident against Madagascar. The clash against Mauritius gave us the confidence to go into Sunday’s match because our aim is to get all nine points in the group stages and comfortably go through to the semis – this makes the fixture against Madagascar very crucial and as defending champions it puts us a bit under pressure to do well,” said Shahabodien.

In the other Group B match, Lesotho takes on Mauritius where whoever loses will be out of the competition.
