6 December 2019 – Interim head coach of the South African U-20 Men’s National Team (Amajita), Helman Mkhalele is delighted with his charges after they brushed aside Mauritius 5-0 in their first fixture of the 2019 COSAFA U-20 Men’s Championship currently underway in Lusaka, Zambia.

The match took place on Thursday, 5 December at Sunset Stadium.

A brace from Man of the Match, Oswin Appolis and a goal each from Sinenjongo Mkiva, Keagan Mitchell and Athenkosi Mcaba was enough to see Amajita claim victory over the Islanders.

South Africa are the defending champions and were playing their first match together with as many as 10 players handed new caps on the day.

The next assignment will be against Madagascar on Sunday, 8 December at Sunset Stadium at 15h30.
