3 December 2019 – The CAF Physical Instructors Coaching Course, which started on 1 December 2019 has drawn participants from across the African continent, mostly from Francophone and English-speaking nations.

The referees’ instructors course is taking place in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

The course is headed by seasoned CAF Physical Coaches, Mademba Mbacke (Senegal), Boubaker Hannachi (Tunisia) and Mohamed Houssein Ali (Djibouti).

South African participants in the course are Derek Hanson and Refilwe Tshigeng.

Latest physical training aspects are covered during theory sessions, and then put into practice during integrated training in the field.

“We expect these Physical Coaches to go and implement what they are learning in their Member Associations with their referees. CAF is investing a lot in the development of referees so that the rewards are improvement of football in general, and referees in particular,” said Felix Tangawarima, the representative of the CAF Referees Committee.

The Couse wraps up on Wednesday (4 December 2019).
