18 November 2019 – Angola and Seychelles will kick-off the 2019 COSAFA Men’s Under-20 Championship when it is staged in Lusaka, Zambia from December 4-14.

The Group C encounter will take place at the Nkoloma Stadium and mark the official start of the last of six regional championships under the COSAFA banner in 2019, as the best young talent from Southern Africa in this age-group do battle for the trophy.

That match will take place at 10h00, and will be followed by two games in Group A as hosts Zambia meet Botswana (kick-off 15h30) and Comoros Islands take on Malawi.

The games will all be played at the Nkoloma Stadium, and on each match day in the pool stages there will be at least three matches played, a feast of football for fans that can also be followed live on COSAFA TV.

The second match in Group C will be played on December 5 at the Sunset Stadium as Mozambique take on Eswatini (10h00), before the opening games in Group B are played at the same venue as Lesotho take on Madagascar (12h45) and South Africa face Mauritius (15h30).

The group games will conclude on December 10, with the semifinals to be played two days later – the Winner of Group B taking on the best placed Runner-Up at 12h00, and the top two teams in Groups A and C meeting at 15h30. Both games will be at the Nkoloma Stadium.

The third-place play-off will be on December 4 at 11h30 for the two losing semi-finalists, with the final to be held later in the day at 15h00 when the champions for 2019 are crowned.

In all there will be 22 games played in 11 days, much to enjoy for the region’s fans as they get to see the best emerging talent on offer.
