15 November 2019 – The South African Football Association’s (SAFA) quality third tier ABC Motsepe League has already lived up to the billing across the nation, none more so than the popular Free State edition.

This weekend will see eight key battles taking place across the province, including a blockbuster top-of-the-table clash.

The first of Saturday’s seven fixtures has African Warriors FC at home to mid-table Harmony FC with the hosts desperately looking to pick up win to lift them to wards safety. The game will take place at Uniqwa Sports Centre at 13h00.

Mphatlalatsane United FC then tackle the impressive Caledon United FC at Bluegumbusch stadium, with the latter attempting to break in to the coveted top four spot with 14 points from eight games thus far. Kick-off for this match is also at 13h00.

The final 13h00 fixture will see relegation-threatened Questas FC entertaining Bloemfontein Celtic FC at Clive Solomon Stadium with the home team relying on familiar surroundings as they aim to pick up a much-needed three points.

Dikwena United FC then travel to Kovsies FC in what should prove to be an open game with both teams playing an attacking brand of football in recent weeks. Kick-off is at 15h00.

Attention then turns to the marquee clash of the weekend at Clive Solomon Stadium (15h00) as top-of-the-log giants Mangaung Unite aim to consolidate their position against the plucky third-placed  Central University of FS. Both clubs have been in superb form with Unite determined as ever to gain promotion next season at all costs.

Sibanye Golden Stars then welcome fifth place BFN Young Tigers to the Vuyo Charles Stadium at 15h00. Both clubs sit comfortably in mid-table but will be going all out for the win in a clash that should see goals-a-plenty.

The day’s final match will see second Super Eagles trying their best to tame Small Tigers FC at Bluegumbusch and keeping up the pressure on Unite. The game is also scheduled for 15h00.

Sunday’s only fixture is an intriguing one as bottom-placed Lijabatho FC aim to get the better of fourth placed De General FC and pick up a rare victory. The coach will no doubt be working on the team’s defensive strategies with the club struggling at the back of late and currently have a poor goal difference of -14.

An exciting weekend of ABC football awaits in the Free State province this weekend.
