6 November 2019 — South Africa’s National Under-23 Olympics Men’s team will face Egyptian football giants, Zamalek SC, in a closed practice match this afternoon at the Abdel-Latif Abu-Rajelha Stadium.

This match will kick-off at 16h30.

National Under-23 head coach David Notoane expressed that this will be a good exercise for his charges leading up to their opening 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Group B match against Zambia this Saturday (9 November) at the Al Salam Stadium.

That match will kick-off at 20h00.

South Africa’s National Under-23 arrived in Cairo, Egypt in the early hours of Tuesday (5 November) morning, and held what Notoane described as a productive training session on the very same day.

The coach also stated that he and his technical staff will continue working really hard in getting the team ready for the battle that lies ahead.

The National Under-23s will also face both Ivory Coast and Nigeria in their remaining two group matches with the ambitions of reaching the knockout rounds of this competition.

A top three finish in this quadrennial Under-23 continental showpiece will guarantee South Africa’s National Under-23′ side a place into next year’s Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
