5 November 2019  – The Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana have assembled for their training camp ahead of the trip to Japan to face the hosts in an international friendly match.

The South Africans fly out tonight (16h50) via Hong Kong where they will arrive tomorrow (Wednesday, 6 November and transit overnight).

They depart Hong Kong on Thursday, 7 November at 11h05 en route to Fukuoka and are expected to land at 15h25 local time (08h25 South African time).

Banyana Banyana and Japan will face off on Sunday, 10 November 2019 at the Kitakyushu Stadium in Fukuoka, Japan.

Kickoff is at 12h45 local time (05h45 South African time – Japan is seven hours ahead).

The two nations will then lock horns again in a practice match the following day (Monday, 11 November) before the squad returns home where they are expected to land on Wednesday, 13 November at 07h10.

This will be the second ever ever meeting between the two nations – the first was at the London Olympic Games in July 2012, and ended goalless.

Both countries were at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France – with Banyana Banyana being knocked out in the group stages, while the Asians departed the scene in the next round of 16.
