28 October 2019 – The South African FUTSAL Men’s National Team is just one match away from qualifying for the Morocco 2020 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations.

South Africa defeated Mauritius 6-0 at the Phoenix Gymnasium in Port Louis on Saturday, 26 October 2019.

The return leg will be played on Wednesday, 30 October at the Orlando Community Hall in Soweto.

Kickoff is 19h30.

Eight nations will play at the 2020 AFCON Futsal tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco from 28 January – 10 February.

Already qualified are the hosts, Morocco, as well as Egypt, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea.

Three spots remain where South Africa will host Mauritius in the second leg, while Zambia will be away to Angola in the other match and Libya will welcome Algeria in Cairo.

South Africa, Libya and Angola have the advantage after their first leg victories – (6-0, 5-2 and 4-0 respectively).

Guinea and Equatorial Guinea qualified for the AFCON after both Cape Verde and Cameroon withdrew from their respective matches.

The top three at the tournament will represent the African continent at the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which will be held in Lithuania from 12 September to 4 October.

The World Cup draw is expected to take place either in November or December.
