21 October 2019 – Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued on their winning streak this past weekend they edged out Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 1-0 in the SAFA Women’s National League.

The clash took place on Saturday, 19 October at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

This was their seventh victory in as many matches and they lead the log table with 21 points.

Breathing down there are neighbours, Tshwane University of Technology (TUT-PTA) who are two points adrift.

Both Sundowns and TUT are yet to lose since the start of the league.

TUT handed the struggling Durban Ladies their fifth defeat of the season with a 3-2 win also on Saturday at the TUT Main Stadium in Pretoria.

Durban Ladies have registered only one win with the other match drawn since the start of the campaign.

Limpopo’s First Touch Academy, captained by Banyana Banyana’s Noko Matlou, had no problems against Thunderbirds at the Jan Smuts Stadium in East London, winning 2-0.

First Touch is now in third place with 14 points after four wins, two draws and a loss.

The biggest winners this past weekend was fourth-placed Coal City Wizards who gave hosts Tsunami Queens a 5-0 drubbing.

The fixture was played on Sunday, 20 October at Bohlokong Stadium in Bethlehem.

At the Umziwabantu Stadium in De Aar, Northern Cape, visitors Golden Ladies brushed aside Richmond Ladies 1-0, while the University of the Western Cape won the battle of the Universities when they defeated University of Johannesburg 2-0 at UJ Soweto Campus.

UWC is sixth on the table with 10 points, one more than seventh-placed UJ.

Action continues this coming weekend on Saturday, 26 October with all the Week 8 matches played on one day only.

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies travel to Northwest for a date with Golden Ladies at the Montshiwa Stadium, with First Touch Academy hosting Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane.

Coal City Wizards will be hoping to cement their top four spot when they come face to face against Thunderbirds FC at the Witbank Rugby Stadium, while another battle of the Universities will take place when UWC welcome TUT at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town and Tsunami Queens will visit UJ at the UJ Soweto Campus.

The live match on SABC 1 will be the between Durban Ladies and bottom of the table Richmond Ladies.

The clash will be played at the Nike Football Centre in Pimville, Soweto.

Kickoff for all the fixtures is 15h00.
