7 October 2019 – Bafana Bafana have safely arrived in Port Elizabeth ahead of their 2019 Nelson Mandela Challenge match up against Mali on Sunday, 13 October 2019.

The clash will take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 15h00.

The squad landed in the coastal city on Tuesday afternoon and will hold their first training session in the area at the Wolfson Stadium, KwaZakhele where fans are welcome to watch their stars in action.

“This is an important step for us because Bafana Bafana is a national team – which means it belongs to you and me, it belongs to all of us. Where possible, we need to have these kinds of arrangements and take the team to the people and have that special relationship,” said Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki.

“Once the fans know that you are in this together, their support grows. We are heading to very important AFCON 2021 qualifiers next month so that support will be crucial for Bafana Bafana. So I urge the fans to come in numbers to come and see what we do at training, how their stars train and I think in that way they will understand better come match day.”

The training session at Wolfson Stadium will start at 15h00.

Meanwhile, all the 23 players have reported for national team duty after the arrival of Belgium-based Percy Tau and Kamohelo Mokotjo who plays his club football in England.

Mali is expected in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.

Tickets for the match are already available at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers at R40 for adults and R20 for children under the age of 12.
