22 September 2019 – Following their outstanding performance and incredible 28 -0 win over the Seychelles in the first group B match, Bantwana will now switch their focus to Botswana, who they will face in their second match of the 2019 COSAFA U17 Women’s Championships.

The South African U17 Women’s National Team will go into the match against the Young Zebras with the aim of topping group B of the inaugural COSAFA U17 Women’s Championships and booking their place in the semi finals.

These two side currently lead group B with South Africa top of the table and Botswana second on goal difference after Botswana won their opening match 6-0 against Madagascar.

Head Coach Simphiwe Dludlu believes that tomorrow’s encounter will be a different ball game and more of a challenge than their opening game however; the experience will be great for the players.

“Botswana is a much stronger opponent and we will have to ensure that we give yet another great performance tomorrow afternoon when we face them.

I believe that our opening match was a great confidence builder, so we have ticked that box off. Now we have to build on tactical discipline, better concentration during the match, better communication and even better defending;”said Dludlu.

“We have studied how Botswana play and they have some get qualities that we can contain during the match.

They have so great individual players who are confident on and off the ball, and very tough defenders however; if we can stick to our game plan and ensure that the players follow instructions, while playing attractive football we have a great chance to win this match and qualify for the semi finals, with a game in hand;’’ concluded Dludlu.
