10 September 2019 – JVW FC have climbed to the top of the Gauteng Sasol League after a 7-0 drubbing of NWU Vaal FC in this past weekend’s Gauteng Sasol League action.

The impressive victory was away from home for the Bedfordview based club who recently made airwaves last week following the signing of record-breaking athlete, Caster Semenya.

The recent signing of one of the world’s best athletes further highlights the club’s intentions of winning the Gauteng title and compete and of course compete in the SAFA National Women’s League.

With 20 matches played so far this season JVW occupy number one spot while equally tied on points with TUKS and Croesus FC who have both played three games more that the log leaders.

Croesus could have been at the top had it not been their 1-1 stalemate against Rosina Sedibane Sports School this past weekend. The title chasers were held to a draw by an equally determined Rosina Sedibane in an evenly balanced tie.

Tuks on the other hand were ruthless in front of goal with an 8-1 victory over VUT FC to keep pressure on the log leaders and keep their title hopes alive.

Things seem to continue to pull apart for Pull Together FC as they remain rooted at the bottom of the log. Pull Together have found it really difficult to adjust to the competitiveness of the Sasol League with just two victories from 23 outings.

Lusaka Ladies have also found it difficult this season as they try to escape the relegation zone. In 23 matches, Lusaka have only won three times and are just one position above Pull Together.
